In recent development, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have applied a big blow with just over 10 days left in the long -awaited Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Lakaway Pacer Mayank Yadav should miss the first half of the upcoming T20 tournament, the ESPNCRICINFO report states.
Lucknow Super Giants retained Mayank Yadav for ₹ 11 crowns on the eve of the IPL 2025 mega auction. Express Pacer was among the five retained players, along with Ravi Bishnoi, who was also retained for 11 crowns. The Nicholas Mesan was the most expensive franchise with headquarters in Lucknow with 21 crowns.
Mayank Yadav faced multiple career injury injuries
Mayank Yadav, who attracted attention to his express pace, faced multiple injuries at the beginning of his career. He only played four matches and took seven Hickeke in the IPL 2024 season before the abdominal stress excluded it. Pacer won a player of the match in the first two games.

According to ESPNCricinfo, Mayank Yadav is currently recovering from lumbar stress injury and continued bowling at the center of excellence of BCCI in Bengalur. The report added that he could return to the second half of the IPL 2025.
“Espncricinfo learned that Mayank recovered from lumbar stress injury and had just continued bowling at the center of excellence of BCCI in Bengaluru, where he passed rehabilitation after being injured after his debut in India in T20I against Bangladesh last October,” the report added.
There is no return date for Yadav, but if his rehabilitation is progressing well, he could be available for the second half. It is worth noting that he bought for ₹ 20 lakh as an unprecedented player in front of IPL 2024.
