A retired heavyweight athlete was sentenced to five years in prison after declaring that there was no competition for the murder attempt.
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion Cain Velasquez was sentenced to five years in prison for shooting 2022, when he was chasing after a man was charged with abusing his son.
Velasquez was convicted of Santa Clara in California on Monday after stating last August that there was no competition for attempted murder, criminal offense and other related arms charges for what the District Lawyer called “Vigilant Shot.” Will get a loan during the time of time.

Less than a week before the shooting, Goularte was arrested in connection with the sex attack of a four -year -old in kindergarten owned by his family. A few days later he was released without a bail. Officials said he had been released into home custody and was on his way to reaching an electronic monitoring bracelet when Velasquez attacked.
Velasquez shot in the Goulatta truck in the pursuit of a car that continued 17.7 KM (11 miles), the District Attorney’s Office said. The gouularte was unharmed, but his stepfather, who was driving, was hit twice.
On the subcast of his former teammate Kyle Kingsbury, Velasquez said his treatment of the situation is “not a way to do it.”
“We can’t put the law in our own hands,” Velasquez said. “I know what I did and I know what I did was very dangerous for other people, you know? Not just for people involved, but innocent people. I understand what I did and I am ready to do everything I have to do, to bring it back.”
Velasquez also said that it is important to have open and honest conversations with their children about what behavior is acceptable and listen to what they say.
“One man’s decision to take over the law has left an innocent man of wounded and endangered schoolchildren, teachers and many others in our community,” District Prosecutor Jeff Rosen said in a statement. “If you want to do justice in Santa Clara County, please sign up for a badge.”
Velasquez became a heavyweight UFC champion on October 23, 2010, when he defeated the then Broca Lesnar counter at UFC 121. The last professional struggle of a retired athlete was against Francisco Ngannou on February 18, 2019.
