During talking to India Today, Sunil Gavascar admitted that both Australia and South Africa were “amazing”, but India might prefer Australia because she has played a lot of them lately.
“Both teams are amazing teams, you don’t make a mistake. There is no such thing that India will say, because now they know, they have come to knockout stages. Here’s a break now or a break, so I don’t think they would rather have a team,” Sunil Gavascar remarked.
“Maybe they are Australia because they played Australia, they know Australia a little better than South Africa, which they last played in the T20 2024 World Cup final,” he added.

“So, maybe they prefer Australia because Australia are without their main bowlers. There is no (Mitchell) Starc, (Pat) Cummins and (Josh) Hazlewood, so they might want to play them,” the former Indian opener counted.
