A teenager armed with a gun that overpowered the passengers on the plane
Passengers and crew members had to overcome a 17-year-old who entered Australia on a plane with a shotgun and municipality.
It happened that the aircraft was about to pour out from Avalon airport, near Melbourne, in front of a flight to Sydney on Thursday afternoon, carrying about 160 people.
Police believe that a teenager arrived at the Airport Aroma, violating the security fence before climbing the front steps to the plane.
The recordings posted by the Australian Outlet 7news showed that the suspect had refrained the passengers, while a member of the earth team and the pilot removed the tools containing the tools that the suspect was worn by.
The pilot can also be seen hitting a teenage shotgun, which wears a fluorescent jacket.
“How is that possible?” Someone on board can be heard speaking in the recording.
Police Victoria said the 17-year-old, who was staying in custody from a nearby Ballarat area.
Superintendent Michael Reid told reporters that the passengers noticed that the teenager was carrying a gun as he climbed the steps toward the plane.
“The males were at least overcome by three passengers,” he said.
Supt Reid said local power is in contact with the police, but that it is too early to establish a motive.
“There is no doubt that it would be a very scary incident for passengers,” he said, praising the “courage” of those who overpowered the suspect.
Barry Clark, one of the passengers, told the Australian public television Emiter ABC that the teenager seemed to be dressed like an airport worker and was “upset”.
He said, “All I could do was pull out a gun … and then put it on and throw it to the ground until the police came.”
No one was injured during the incident, police said. Investigators found a car and two bags belonging to a suspected nearby.
Avalon Airport is exclusively stocked with Jetstar, a budgetary airplane managed by Qantas.
In a statement to BBC, US US partner CBS News, the company said he was working with the Incident Research.
“We know that would be a very disturbing situation,” the statement said. “We are honestly grateful to customers who helped our crew to be safely managed by the situation.”
Avalon Avalon Air Suss CEO said the airport opened again.
