The English fast bowlers Brydon Carse was excluded from the T20 tournament, and Sunrizers appointed the South African comprehensive as his replacement.

Wiaan Mulder brings a valuable Sunrisers experience. He played 11 t20i for South Africa, taking eight hicket on average 24.37, and scored 105 runs at a stop of 116.66. Proteas cricket has the ability to contribute with a stick and a ball, which will add balance to the team.
