On Sunday, March 9, Paris hosted a half marathon with a record 48,000 participants. The runners covered 21 km on a largely straight course around the most popular attractions in the French capital. Kenyan athlete Kennedy Kimmutai won the race with a time of 1:00:00:16 pm, although he failed to knock down the record of events. He was followed by two of his compatriots, Timothy Kosgei (1:00:22) and Timothy Kibet (1:00:44), which made the hat-trick of the Kenyan endings of the podium.
