We advocated ‘buying and possessing’ Gaza, Trump says | News

The US president says other countries in the Middle East could be in charge of the renovation of parts of the enclaves diluted with war.

The President of the United States Donald Trump repeated his controversial proposal to take control of Gaza, saying that he was dedicated to “buying and possessing” an enklave of a demolished war.

In an interview with Air Force reporters on Sunday, Trump said Gaza should be considered a “big real estate place” and other countries in the Middle East could be in charge of handling his remodeling.

“As far as renewal is concerned, we can give it to other countries in the Middle East to build its parts; other people can do it, through our patronage,” Trump said while on his way to New Orleans to attend Super Bowl.

“But we have committed ourselves to own it, take it and ensure that Hamas does not return.

Trump also claimed that the displaced Palestinians would rather not return to Gaza, despite his proposal that encouraged the return reaction from Palestinian representatives and most of the international community.

“If we could give them a home in a safer area – the only reason they talk about returning to Gaza is that they have no alternative. When they have an alternative, they do not want to return to Gaza,” the US president said.

The Hamas, a Palestinian group that manages Gaza, reiterated the opposition to Trump’s proposal on Sunday, calling his latest remarks “absurd”.

“Gaza is not an estate that can be purchased and sold, and is an integral part of our occupied Palestinian land,” said Izat al-Lisheq, a member of the Hamas political office, in a statement divided into Telegram.

“Dealing with Palestinian problem with a real estate seller’s mentality is a recipe for failure,” Al-Asheq added.

“Our Palestinian people will prevent all plans for dispute and deportation. Gaza belongs to his people. “

Earlier on Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised Trump’s proposal as a “revolutionary” and “creative” as he addressed a cabinet meeting that took place a few hours after returning from Washington, DC, where he held talks with the US president.

Trump on Tuesday amazed Palestinians and international community suggesting that Washington takes over Gaza As part of the brave remodeling plan, which he claimed could turn the enclave into a “Riviera of the Middle East”.

The US president doubled his proposal the next day, after the officials from his administration tried to dampen his return at the proposal, insisting that every relocation of the Palestinians would be temporary.

Trump, a real estate developer before entering politics, has provided some details on how he will implement his proposal, which will face great practical obstacles, except that he will trigger legal and ethical concerns.

After he initially said he was open to the possibility of sending the US army to Gaza, Trump later said that no US soldiers would be needed to perform the plan.

Neighboring states such as Egypt and Jordan have rejected calls to take over the displaced Palestine, despite Trump’s proposals that they could move to “other countries of interest with humanitarian hearts.”

Sunday, Saudi Arabia condemned the proposal by Netanyahu that the land of the kingdom is used to establish a Palestinian state.

“The Kingdom confirms that the Palestinian people are entitled to their country, and they are not intruders or immigrants to it that can be expelled whenever a brutal Israeli occupation wants,” the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs state the “crime” of Israel in Gaza.
