Fenerbahce manager Mourinho said the Galatasary bench ‘jumping like a monkey’ during the Turkish Super Liga match.
Galatasaray Turkish Football Club accused Jose Mourinho of making “racist statements”, saying he would initiate a criminal proceedings against manager Fenerbahce of his comments after drawing a team 0-0 in the Super League.
Although it was unclear to which Galatasaray statements Mourinho said that the home side bench “jumped like a monkey” and that the match would be a disaster if the Turkish judge was in charge.
On Monday, Slovenian Slavko Vincic played after both clubs requested a competent official.
Galatasaray said on X that Mourinho “persistently issued derogatory statements directed towards the Turkish people” since he took over his role in the league.
“Today, his discourse escalated beyond only immoral comments in the unequivocally inhuman rhetoric,” the club said.
“We officially declare ourselves on our intention to initiate criminal proceedings regarding racist statements by Jose Mourinho, and in accordance with this we will file an official complaint with UEFA -II FIFA.”

Former Chelsea, Manchester United and manager Tottenham Hotspur Mourinho have been previously punished and suspended for their comments about the Turkish match officials. After the match, the Portuguese were again critical of the Turkish judges at a press conference.
“I went to the referee’s locker room after the game. Of course, the fourth official was there, a Turkish referee,” Mourinho said.

Mourinho also praised Vincica for not giving a yellow ticket to the defense of Yusuf AkCicek at the beginning of the game, despite the animated reaction of the Galatsarary bench for the challenge.

There was no immediate comment from Fenerbahce, which is the second in the super -league six points behind Galatasaraya.
