The reporter forbade an oval office event because of the editorial decision not to use the ‘US Bay’, says AP

The Associated Press on Tuesday announced that the White House had banned its reporter event in an oval office because the news agency would not start using the “US Bay” to describe the Gulf of Mexico.

The statement states that the journalist AP is not allowed to attend the signing of the executive command in the afternoon. US President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, who are in charge of the Ministry of Effectiveness of the Government (Doge), were at that event.

“It is alarming that Trump’s administration would punish AP for its independent journalism. Limiting our approach to the oval office based on the content of AP speech not only seriously interferes with the public access to the public independent news, it is obviously violating the first amendment,” AP Executive editor Julie Pace said in statement.

After assuming his duty, Trump ordered the water to bite the southern United States, Mexico and Cuba were renamed the US Bay. He also ordered the name for the highest American mountain peak, Mount Denali, to return to Mount McKinley.

In a statement last month, AP said that his journalists and editors would continue to describe the bay “by its original name, at the same time recognizing the new name Trump chose.”

“As a global news agency that spreads news around the world, AP must ensure that names and geography are easily recognizable to the entire audience,” ” Notice read.

The agency said she would adopt Mount McKinley for the highlight of Alaskan, because “the area lies solely in the United States, and as president, Trump has the authority to change federal geographical names in the country.”

The AP reference guide is a reference for many English journalists around the world. Provides standardized rules for grammar, interpunction, spelling and other aspects of news writing. It can be updated to reflect changes in writing style and new guidelines.
