The last tariff threats woke up a market fear meter
The last headlines of the tariff woke up with a market measure of fear.
The volatility index of the CBOE or VIX increased to 16.16 after trading at 14.90 earlier during the day. Although reading under the age of 20 is still considered normal volatility, it is worth noting that the VIX jump was corresponding to the tariff comments of the print secretary of the White House of Caroline Leavitt.
Dow reduced 236 points or 0.5%on Friday. S&P 500 is reduced by 0.1%. The Nasdaq composite increased by 0.3%. The yield on the 10-year treasury note increased to 4.55%.
