The ICE Lions hockey team, based in Nairobi, has its own sights at the Olympic Games. The team recently celebrated its first victory in the friendly league title, faced with amateurs from the ‘cooler people’ on home ice – a rink set up in 2005 by a group of Canadians. The team only the fifth African team was introduced by the UU International Federation for Ice Hockey, trains a Canadian and currently has one women’s player.
