The forest striker ‘was extraordinary’ says former head of Howe
Chris Wood is his former manager Eddie Howe marked as a “overthrow”, while the nottingham forest goals are preparing to face Newcastle on Sunday afternoon.
Wood, 33, signed Howe to help hold Newcastle 2022, but scored only four Premier League goals in two seasons before he was allowed to move to the forest.
However, he flourished in eastern Midlands, achieving 18 times this season to help launch forests to third place.

Howwe said, “I think he was extraordinary. Chris, when he came to us, helped us in a really difficult situation in the fight against relegation.
“We felt that we needed a focal point in this position. Someone who could take great pressure from us as a team and give us a physical presence. I thought he did all these things and was extraordinary for that.
“I probably underestimated how much he influenced our style and play. Then with Alex’s [Isak] Return to Fitness and Callum’s [Wilson] The return ended further.
“I am delighted with him on a personal level because he is a great character, he gave us everything.”
Newcastle lost three of the last four games, but only three points from the best four entry in the weekend.
Howe wants to see a response from a disappointing defeat in Manchester City last weekend.
He said, “There is no security in football, which I can no doubt to say. But I think there is an understanding that we have not performed.
“We understand that we are not well enough. We must have covered it with the players and we expect a big answer.”
