Moderate GOP Senator Susan CollinsR-MAINE, she revealed that she would not support President Donald Trump’s candidate as FBI’s director, Kasha Patel.
“Nomination for Kash Patel Serving as a director of the FBI comes to the Senate on the background of recent staff actions at the Ministry of Justice, including the resignation of several federal career prosecutors who thought they were instructed to act in a way that was not in accordance with their ethical obligations, “” she said in a statement Thursday posted just before a key procedural vote.

“Although I strongly support the efforts to ensure that all federal employees execute their responsibilities ethically and in accordance with the law, the recent political profile of Mr. Patel, he undermines his ability to serve in the Apolitical role of the FBI director,” she added.
Trump’s controversial FBI candidate cleared his last procedural obstacle on Thursday morning, despite the loss of Collins’ support.

Tillis, who held himself for the nomination of Pete Hegseth’s Defense Minister, was one of the first to go behind the patello, helping the shepherd through the Senate.
The moderate Senator Lisa Murkowski, R-Achor, did not say whether to vote for the confirmation of the patella, but she voted “yes” in the last procedural obstacle, which indicates that she would do so on the final vote.

Patel will have a final vote on a certificate on Thursday afternoon.
Collins also opposed Hegseth, along with Murkowski and former Republican Senate leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. Vice -President JD Vance was supposed to interrupt the exit in Senate and confirm Hegsetth.
