Shock due to a body mixing is the latest obstacle in fragile truck
The Israeli announcement that the body returned from Gaza on Thursday was not Shiri Bibas, as Hamas said, he casts another stumbling block in this trial agreement.
The remains of Shiri, the mothers of two children were thought to be handed over with those of her children.
But the Israeli army said that forensic trials could only confirm the bodies of Ariel and Kfir, who would have five and two old, not her mothers.
Instead, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Hamas “put the body of a gazan woman in the coffin,” with Ismail al-Thawabt, a spokesman for Hamas, suggesting that Shiri’s remains were mixed with other bodies under the ruins after Israeli air strike.
In a separate statement, the group said that it confirmed its “seriousness and complete commitment to all our obligations” under the dedicated fire – and that “he had no interest in disrespect”.
She also announced that an investigation into the mix was underway and that she called on the remains of the alleged Palestinian woman wrongly committed to Israel to return.
The Bibas family was taken from Nir Oz Kibbutz during Hamas’s attacks on October 7, 2023. On Israel, along with Shiri’s husband, Yarden, which was published earlier this month.
Ariel and Kfir, the youngest hostages of Israel, were at the age of four and nine months when they were abducted. Their mother was 32 years old.
Netanyahu threatened that Hamas would pay for a “full price” because it was not committed by Shiri’s body, calling it a “cruel and evil violation” of their agreement.
Not yet announced measures outside Netanyahua have not been announced, saying that Israel will act “with a determination to bring Shiri home.”
But the further claim of Israel that Ariel and Kfir “will kill” Hamas will further turn on the feelings in Israel.
In November 2023. Hamas claimed that boys and shiri were killed at the Idf Air strike. The BBC failed to confirm it on his own, and Israel said he would not confirm their death before the forensic examination.
Ever since he performed such tests on Thursday, Israel has said that the boys “have been brutally killed by terrorists in captivity.”
For Israeli politicians within and outside the government of Netanyahu who demanded a continuation of the war in Gaza, this revelation will be considered more evidence that Hamas must be extremely eradicated.
The ceasefire enters a new period of uncertainty, with the first phase attracted to the end – while the negotiations in the next phase are yet to start seriously.
The second phase – in which all the remaining hostages, live or dead should be published – has been considered more potentially challenging than the first.
Israel requires a complete disarmament of Hamas, while Hamas rejects the odds that Israel will continue to maintain a solid security control over Gaza.
Every big breakdown in the agreement could see a return to the fight.
On the other hand, however, perhaps most of the public opinion in Israel – that nothing should be distracted that all the remaining tals are returning.
Expressing his condemnation of the latest events, Israel’s president Isaac Herzog made it clear that Israel must remember what he called “the highest duty – that all of our fired sisters and brothers to bring home.”
The hostage forum and missing families echoed, saying that “every step” must be taken with “careful responsibility” to ensure a safe return of all hostages.
The fourth body was returned to Israel, from Gaza, on Thursday-or-in 84-year-old peace activist Odeed Lifschitz. Just as Ariel and Kfir Bibas, the Israeli army said the remains of Oded -confirmed to forensic examination.
