Former Pakistan Rashid Latif Crket was not satisfied with the team for the 2025 championship team. Latif scored a Pakistani cricket board (PCB) and blamed them for the political selection in the team.
Pakistan announced his Detachment for Champion Trophy 31 January (Friday) just a few days before the start of the tournament. Pakistan was also the last one among all eight teams who participated in their tournament team.

Rashid Latif Slams PCB for “Political Selection” in Pakistani Detachment
During the speech for Telekomeasia.net, Rashid Latifa expressed his views on the selection of Pakistan for The Champions Trophy 2025. He questioned the selection of Allrounder Faheem Ashrafa, who last played a go to the 2023 Asian Cup in 2023
“It seems to be political selection. Faheem (Ashraf) has no recent performance that could justify the choice, and his record is not impressive,” said Rashid Latif.
Rashid Latifa further said that the Pakistani team has players who have not played ODIS for a long time. He left him on the captain of the Mohammad Rizwan team to prepare a team that could win the tournament.
“This team includes players like (Faheem) Ashrafa, Fakhar Zaman and Saud Shakeel, who were not part of the system in the last three tour. Now on Captain Mohammad Rizwan, in choosing the best XI, just like Imran Khan did 1992 and Younis Khan 2009, “he added.

FAHEEM ASHRAF has played 34 Zada -Ai so far scored 224 rides on average only 10.66. Allrounder picked up 25 Wickskete with a ball on average 39.64.

Fakhar Zaman returns to Pakistan Squda for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025
Meanwhile, Fakhar Zaman and Saud Shakeel have not been part of the team lately. Fakhar was rejected for the issue of fitness and post in which PCB openly criticized on social networks.
Zaman has a good record, but his last match returned to the 2023 World Cup against England in Eden Gardens, Kolkut. Interestingly, this is the last game of Saud Shakeel.
The choice of Fakhara Zaman was expected because of the unavailability of Saima Ayub, who excluded him from the whole tournament. But Ashraf and Shakeel’s selection was far from expected.
Pakistan will start the trophy champion campaign against New Zealand on February 19 in Karachi in the introductory match of the tournament.
Men in Green will then face the archival India in Dubai before leaving Rawalpinda to face Bangladesh on February 27. Men in green will enter the tournament as veterans.
