Pope’s health “a complex clinical situation,” says the Vatican
Pope Francis is treated for a “complex clinical situation” and will remain in the hospital for as long as necessary, Vatican said.
The 88-year-old was admitted to the Gemelli hospital on Friday to undergo treatment and bronchitis tests.
In an update on Monday, the Vatican said PontiF had a “polymycrobial infection” of his respiratory tract, which required a change in his treatment.
Before his reception last week, the Pope had symptoms of bronchitis for several days and he delegated officials to read the prepared speeches at events.
