Pope ‘Warning and joke’ says Prime Minister Italy after a visit

Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni visited the Pope at the hospital, where he was diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs.

The 88-year-old was admitted to the Gemelli Roman hospital on Friday with a respiratory infection.

Meloni said in a statement that “she was very happy that she considered him awake and sensitive. We joked as always. He did not lose her proverbial sense of humor.”

She offered him the best wishes for a quick recovery, on behalf of the Italian government and the whole country.

Earlier in the week, the Vatican said that medical tests and X -ray of the chest showed a “complex picture”.

Pneumonia is a serious infection that can turn on and smear the lungs, causing chest pain and making breathing difficult.

In his latest update, the Vatican said he was awake and ate breakfast.

The Vatican official said he was still able to get out of bed and sit in an armchair in his hospital room, and continued to do a job.

He canceled the papal audience scheduled for Saturday and it is not good enough to attend mass on Sunday.

Outside the hospital, benefactors and pilgrims continued to gather to pray, bright candles and write notes about encouragement.
