Member’s Dogea is reminiscent of reports of racist posts
The young member of the Elona Musk unit, the units of the Government Efficiency Department (Doge), resigned after being associated with the racist account of the social media.
Media reports were linked by Marko Eleza (25), who had previously worked for Musk’s Spacex Company, to the now deleted an account of social media, which promoted racism and eugenik.
The White House confirmed on Friday that Elez resigned, although he did not specify why.
Musk himself acknowledged his departure, publishing a survey on the X, the social media platform he owns, asking the followers if he should return the dogs who made “inappropriate statements through the now deleted pseudonym.”
“Just for the record, I was racist before it was cool,” read one post from a pseudonym account in July.
The account associated with Mr. Elez – who was first reported by The Wall Street Journal – posted the various flammable comments that BBC checked as authentic.
“You couldn’t pay me to get married outside my ethnicity,” the post in the account said in September.
“Normalize Indian hatred,” another post that month said.
All posts were deleted.
From Friday morning, more than 385,000 people seem to have participated in the male poll about Mr. Elez’s reunion, although it did not mention it by name.
So far, 78% voted for his return.
Responding to a user who said Musk should talk to Mr. Elez “about racist things. Not cool,” the billionaire replied, “Truth.”
Vice President JD Vance said on Tuesday that, although he disagrees with some of Elez’s posts … I don’t think the stupid social media activity should ruin the child’s life. ”
“Well, I say back,” he added.
The resignation of Mr. Eleza comes due to the increasing surveillance of DOGE, an advisory group to reduce the costs established by Trump, which appeared as a dominant force in the early days of his second term.
Musk and his team made a dizzying effort to reduce the size of the Federal Government.
On Thursday, the US judge threw an obstacle on one of these initiatives, stopping the plan to offer incentives to millions of federal workers to voluntarily submit this month.
Musk also advocated an effort to remove USAIDs, government agencies responsible for international development. All but a few basic staff – from a working force of about 10,000 people – should be put on administrative leave at midnight on Friday, including thousands abroad.
