Malaysia says that forced relocation of Palestinians would be ethnic cleansing | Israel-Palestine News of Conflict
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that it “strongly opposes” the displacement of residents from Gaza after the Trump remodeling plan.
Malaysia announced that she was “strongly opposed” by the forced relocation of Palestinians in Gaza after the President of the United States Donald Trump said Washington would take on enclave within the extraordinary remodeling plan.
The forced displacement of Palestinians would represent ethnic cleansing and violations of international law and multiple UN resolution resolutions, the Malaysian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
“Any attempt, whether it is directly or indirect, to unilaterally and greatly impose solutions that neglect the right of the Palestinian people to self -determination and violate their freedom, is unacceptable, unjustified and will only further deepen one of the longest conflicts in the region,” the Ministry said in a statement.
“Malaysia still stands solidarity with Palestine people. The only sustainable path to permanent peace and stability in the Middle East is the establishment of an independent and sovereign state of Palestine, based on the borders before 1967, with East Jerusalem as the capital.”
The ministry added that the international community should unite in a “credible and permanent solution that is acceptable to the Palestinians”, and reiterated its support for diplomatic efforts to establish an independent Palestinian state.
Malaysia, where about two -thirds of the Muslim population, has no diplomatic relations with Israel and has long been an unwavering supporter of the Palestinian cause.
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has loudly opposed Israel’s war in Gaza, supporting the case of genocide in South Africa against a country in the International Court of Justice, as well as calls for his expulsion of the United Nations.
The Malaysian leader also rejected the western pressure to break the relationship with Hamas, a Palestinian gauze management group.
Trump’s proposal to take over and “own” Gaza has demolished Palestinian organizations, including Hamas, Palestinian administration and organization for the liberation of Palestine, and the international community is widespread.
On Wednesday, members of Trump’s administration, including Secretary of State Marc Rubioa appeared, appeared on the proposals, saying that every relocation of Palestinians would occur on a temporary basis while the gauze was restored.
