A ticket that may not be a map
First, not all “tickets” were created equal. If you receive something that looks like a ticket but does not have a full address or phone number – or worse, it says “don’t contact the court” – you may deal with what is called “Snitch ticket”. These are not real tickets at all, but they try to make you the rat of who actually drove. The dead division is usually that they will say something like, “Note from kindness: this is not a ticket.”

Why do they play this game?
Because cities often have to pay for camera suppliers for each ticket issued, whether they have ever collected or not. So, when the recording is too blurry to idle driver, they throw out these “spoils, were that you?” Tickets, hoping you will do their homework. That’s basically a shady game “Guess Who?” In addition to never agreeing to play, the rules are equipped and the only prize is an unwanted fine.

What now?
If you got a “footage ticket” (a fake map designed to identify you driver), here’s what you can do.
Ignore: Since this is not the right ticket, you are not legally obliged to answer. Many people simply neglect these notifications.
Do not identify the driver: Remember, you have no legal obligation to appoint your car driven.
Check the red flags: Confirm that this is falsely looking for missing court data or phrase “Do not contact the court regarding this notification.”
Be informed: Hold the notification of your records, but don’t let it emphasize you. This is not a legal document.
Remember, these false cards are just fishing expeditions. You are well in your rights to throw them in a recycling bucket and go through your day.

“But it’s not me!” – What to do
If you get the original map (one with all the information about the Court) but you have not been a driver, you have options.
1) Contact the police (optional): You can try to call the number on the map and explain the situation. But beware, they could press you to identify the actual driver.
2) Stand your soil: Remember, it is not legally needed to identify the driver. It’s not your job to play a detective for them.
3) Go to court: If Push can suffocate, you can always compete in the court in court. Just be ready for some potential return.

Kurts key endeavor
Dealing with tickets with red light cameras may feel like moving in a legal minefield. It is crucial to know your rights, stand firmly and not let someone press you to admit guilt or identify others if you are not comfortable. Remember, the burden of evidence is on them, not you. Be informed, be calm and if everything else fails, seek legal advice. After all, justice should not be a Gotcha game.
