Captain CSK Ruturaj Gaikwad spoke about his first encounter with the legendary Crite MS Dhoni during his initial years in the franchise. Gaikwad also admitted that he was nervous while sharing the same locker room with Dhoni.
Mrs. Dhoni left Captain Chennai Super Kings after led by the team to the IPL 2023 victory. However, CSK was below a pair of IPL 2024 because they had to deal with no. injuries problems and they could not be paid into the playoffs.

Roturaj Gaikwad interrupts silence at his first meeting with Mrs. Dhoni
Ruturaj Gaikwad spoke with Indian Express and shared the experiences of his first encounter with Dhoni. He felt nervous in his first interaction with the legend, but later he was pleasant because they both shared the same locker room.
“For the first time (I was) very nervous (while sharing a locker room with Mrs. Dhoni). Obviously I never met anyone with such a stature. But it made me feel comfortable and I felt like I was a part of the team,” Gaikwad said .
“After that, whenever he is around, I get geese, but I have to come back and I never dreamed of it, playing with Mrs. Dhoni,” he revealed.
Gaikwad also talked about his plans of the game while hitting IPL. The opener’s right has a long hitting and aims to hit until Dhoni goes out in suffering.
“With such a age difference, he is almost 16-18 years older than me. So, every time I go out in suffering for CSK in IPL, my only goal is to play until Mrs. Dhoni appears,” the opener added.

Dhoni is a legendary captain and led CSK up to five IPL titles. Wickeket-Batter is also the most successful captain in IPL history with 133 victories and 91 defeats in 226 matches in the percentage of a 58.84 victory.
Gaikwad, on the other hand, led CSK in only 14 matches, of which the team won 7 matches and lost as many games as possible. Gaikwad will continue to lead CSK to the IPL 2025, despite the difficult beginning of the captain’s career.
Dhoni will be seen in the coming season as he is still an active player in IPL. Over the years, the 43-year-old has transformed his playing style and relies on hitting big shots down the order.

Dhoni plays IPL from the initial edition of the 2008 tournament. He led CSK to the finals in the first season, where they lost to Rajasthana Royals. CSK won its first IPL trophy in 2010, and in the next year he won the second title.
Dhoni has exceptional IPL numbers with 5243 driving in 264 matches on average 39.12 and a strike rate of 137.53 with 24 fifties. Despite being hit in the lower row in most of his career, he managed to contribute strongly to the bat under pressure.
