IBA to take legal proceedings against IOC for the permission of Khelif and Lin to participate in Paris 2024
The International Boxing Association (IBA) is proud of being the only international federation dedicated to the protection of athletes around the world and supporting the integrity of women’s sports. The executive order of US President Donald Trump “holding men from women’s sport” proves that Iba stood firmly, rightly protecting the female boxers from unjust competition.
In the light of the problem with sex around boxers 2022 and 2023, IBA proactively conducted all the necessary tests, and then banned by individuals who considered them unacceptable to participate in women’s competitions. Despite informing IOC about the disqualification of imana Khelif and Lin Yu-Tnga, MOO neglected these critical information, allowing both athletes to compete in qualifying and finally at the 2024 Olympics, where they provided gold medals, denying opportunities for merits for female athletes.
As a result, IBA filed an official appeal to the General of Switzerland, Mr. Stefan Blätt, in connection with the procedures of IOC, which made it easier to participate in these inappropriate athletes at the 2024 Olympic Boxer Tournament. According to Switzerland, any action or inactivity that represents the security risk to participants of the competition guarantees an investigation and can serve as reasons for prosecution. In addition, similar complaints should be submitted to the Chief Lawyers of France and the USA.
“President Trump’s command to ban transgender athletes from women’s sports confirms the efforts of IBA to protect the integrity of the female sport,” claimed IBA President Umar Kremlev. ‘Our actions aim to ensure gender equality in boxing. We invite other international federations to follow the IBA example, because we are uniquely positioned to solve this problem and advocate for the rights of our athletes. “
President Kremlev further encouraged boxers who were influenced by the IOC decision to allow Khelif and Lin to compete in the 2024 qualifying tournament or Olympic boxing events to conduct legal proceedings against President IOC Thomas Bach, sports director Kit McConnell -Ai their teams.
‘IBA will provide free comprehensive legal support to our boxers in these lawsuits, because it is a clear violation of human rights, anger towards female boxers and a simple crime that should be punished accordingly. In my personal opinion, Thomas Bach should take full responsibility for this, as the main one when it happened, and he should compensate for caused, if the court or any other case this verdict, “said President Kremlev.
Looking in advance, IBA will ensure the implementation of strict measures at the upcoming World Boxer Championship in Niš to preserve the integrity of the competition, with a special focus on the testation of the setting of the gender. This initiative emphasizes the dedication of the IBA to provide a fair and righteous sports environment for all athletes.
