Half Jd Vance, Cory Bowman, runs for Cincinnati, Ohio, Mayor

Vice President JD Vance’s Pole brother, Cory Bowman, announced that he was running for Mayor Cincinnati.

Bowman, Pastor, owner of a cafe and a registered Republican, revealed his candidacy in an interview published on Tuesday by Cincinnati Enquirer.

The last Republican who ran for Mayor Cincinnati was Brad Wenstrup 2009. Wenstrup later successfully ran for a seat in a US house.

Cincinnati led the Sve-Democrat, a nine-member council since Republican Liz Keating was vote in 2023.

Eight people have filed for candidates for Mayor Cincinnati, the newspaper reported. The deadline for submission of 500 signatures that will be on the ballot is February 20th.

None of the applicants have yet fulfilled this request, including the current Mayor of Aftab Pureval, Democrat. Pureval told the newspaper that he was running for a re -choice and that he began collecting funds.

While Trump’s administration continues to suppress criminal illegal immigrants, Pureval said that Cincinnati will not cooperate with the immigration agent and customs agent, Wxix reported.

The mayor’s competition is a non -partisan field race. The two main recipients of the voters are progressing to general elections. There is no primary if less than three candidates qualify for running.

Bowman said he spoke with Vance in the “initial stages” of the Consideration of the Mayor, describing Vance as their inspiration, adding that the two had a friendly rivalry.

“I don’t have to speak for my brother necessarily because he speaks pretty well for himself. And he’s doing well,” Bowman said Enquirer. “I’ll say he’s amazing my role model.”

Bowman grew up in the counties of Butler and Preble, and he and his wife moved to Cincinnati in 2020, when they founded a river church in the West End neighborhood.

After being a pastor a Christian Church Bowman told Enquirer for four years that he thought he was nominated for a local office as a way of giving, an interest that further ignited President Donald Trump and Vance’s inauguration in Washington, DC, last month.

“There is no one who cheered loudly when he swore at me, because he was my brother,” Bowman said of Vance.

Vance and Bowman divide the same father, Donald Bowman, who died in 2023. He was the second husband of Vance’s mother, Beverly Aikins.

Donald Bowman put Vance to adoption when the Vice President was now in kindergarten. In his memoir, “Hillbilly Elegy”, Vance describes reconnection with the father and half of the brothers and sisters, including Cory, as a teenager.

Vance also describes life with her father in their family farm in Preclac County, comparing that experience of growing up with her mother, who she had Fight addiction.

“It was a great childhood,” Cory Bowman told Enquirer of his life on a farm. “We learned these foundations as children. But there was always something about the city that attracted me.”

Vance’s mother changed the name of James Donald Bowman to James David Hamel when she got married. He later took his grandfather’s last name, Vance.

Bowman also owns Kings Arms coffee at the western end of Cincinnati. “My heart fell in love with that,” he said about the neighborhood.

He lives in the neighborhood of College Hill Cincinnati.

Vance has not yet been involved in the announcement of the half -brother campaign.

Bowman attended a Republican national convention in Milwaukee in July, when Vance was announced as Trump’s partner. He said he noticed many new Republicans, although he was not one of them.
