Guptill goes with 160 running in 49 balls; evaluates more than the entire opposition
Martin Guptill produced once in his life knocking in the Legend 90 League, breaking the undefeated 160* out of only 49 balls to start the CHHATTISGARH Warriors in a monumental victory of 89 running over Big Boys Unikari on Monday.
The international Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium has turned into a spectacle while Guptill’s brutal knock unanimously surpassed the entire total number of oppositions.
The celebrated name in the history of the Christian ball from New Zealand, Guptill set the stadium after the Warriors first decided to hit. The start was measured, but the veteran opener soon released the massacre, reaching his half a century in just 21 balls.
A real fireworks started in 12th place when he plundered 29 running from Ishan Malhotra, brought his century to only 34 balls, becoming the first player to achieve a century in the Legend 90 League. The next fifty came in only 13 delivery, seizing the total amount to the stunning 160*, which is the highest individual result of the tournament.
The Guptill’s brutal attack included 12 fours and 16 sixties at an extraordinary rate of a 326.53 strike. He was strongly supported by Rishi Dhawan, who played equally impressive scams, remaining undefeated at 76* of 42 balls.
The duo forged a continuous 240 run, most of the competition partnership, powered by Warriors to a record total number of 240/0 in their awarded 15 supplements. This was marked by the first 200+ in total in the history of the tournament.
Electrifying inings even left the commentators of the horror, and Sumit Mishra exclaimed: “Yeh Guptill ki live Ballebaazi Chal Rahi Hai, Yeh Koi ai ka kamaal nahi hai!” (This is Guptill’s lives, not the work of artificial intelligence!)
In response, Big Boys Unicari had a sublime task and collapsed under pressure on the table.
Their chase embarked on the worst possible start because they lost Jatin Saxen early from Manan Sharma early. Soon, Captain Ishan Malhotra followed, rejected by Abhimanyu Mithun.
Despite Saurabh Tiwary, 37, and the bold efforts of Robin Bist (55*), the team never watched control and eventually was limited to 151/4, 89 running fell.
With this commanding victory, Chhattisgarh Warriors secured his third consecutive victory and rose to the top of the table.
