(Reuters) – Morgan Stanley has reduced its emphasis on diversity in its last annual report published on Friday, signaling re -calibration that companies adapt to the changing reality under the administration of President Donald Trump.
The report omitted the last statement of the bank that “a diverse and including workforce is important for the continued success of Morgan Stanley.”
Instead, the report now says: “Meritocracy is at the center of talent of talent Morgan Stanley” and “the workforce representing societies in which we live and work, and our global base of clients is an integral part of the continued success of Morgan Stanley.”
Several corporate giants softened the obligations of their diversity in the midst of pushing Trump to dismantle programs of diversity, equality and inclusion (dei) into the federal government and the private sector.
Citigroup said he would no longer require a diverse board of candidates for job interviews. Goldman Sachs also canceled a four -year policy of exclusively taking public companies with at least two different members of the Committee.
Diversity is a long -standing challenge on Wall Street. Morgan Stanley also previously withdrawn control of all white, all the men’s candidate panel to inherit former James Gorman executive director.
The bank, however, plays several women in the lead roles, including Sharon Yeshaya financial director. Stating an employee survey, Morgan Stanley said that about 40% of his global labor and 29% of his officials – who include roles such as management directors, executives and vice presidents – women.
In the United States, 35% of his workforce and 28% of his officers come from ethnically diverse origin, the bank said.
“We strive to make Morgan Stanley a diverse and inclusive job,” the bank said in the report. A spokesman refused to comment on.
