Family Sadness after British couple dies in France
The son of Scottish woman who was found dead with her husband in France said his family mourns the loss of money.
Mrs. Searle’s son, actor and singer Callum Kerr, issued a statement of social media On behalf of the four joint children of the couple.
Bodies Andrew and Dawn Searle, who were in the sixties, discovered a neighbor Thursday in their house in southwestern France. They moved to the area from Scotland ten years ago.
Local Mayor, Jean-Sébastien Orcibal, said French television that death is “obvious murder.”
Statement, Posted on Instagram actor Netflix and Hollyoaks -aHe said, “At the moment, Callum Kerr and Amanda Kerr are mourning her mother’s loss, Dawn Searle (Née Smith, Kerr), while Tom Searle and Ella Searle mourn their father’s loss, Andrew Searle.”
He asked for family privacy to be respected during this “difficult period,” he added that he would provide updates as needed.
Mr. Kerr appeared in Netflix’s Virgin River and played PC Kiss in Hollyoaks.
He also published a series of rural songs.
The thirty -year -old passed his mother down the aisle when she married Mr Searle at a ceremony in France in 2023.
On social networks, he then wrote: “You can’t say a lot of people say they walked their own mother down the passage. What a pleasure. I love you mom.”
Bodies found by a neighbor
The couple’s bodies were found on Thursday around 12:20 at their house in the hamlet of Les Pesquiès, in a rural area north of the city of Toulouse.
The discovery was made by a neighbor, who went to check them when they failed to appear on a planned walking of dogs.
The area around their detached house is sealed while investigations are being taken place, and local police have invited the Toulouse professional assistance.
Forensics officers conducted on Thursday searching the crime scene, with a helicopter, a drone, a criminal investigation technicians and a forensic doctor deployed to a place.
No criminal case has been opened so far, and police say there is no preferred theory about how the couple died.
Mr. Orcibal, which represents the area of Villefranche-de-Rouergue, told BBC News that the cause of death is still unclear.
He had previously rejected the speculations that death arose because of the burglary “went wrong” and said that “the knife was not found”.
Mr. Orcibal also said that the couple became “very well integrated” in the village and that he regularly invited neighbors, many of whom were colleagues expatriates, for a drink.
According to his LinkedIn page, Mr Searle worked during his career in preventing financial crime in companies, including the Life and Barclays Bank Standard.
Mrs. Searle grew up in Eyemouth on the Scottish borders, and Mr. Searle was originally from England.
The couple -who was in their 60s -lived in Musselburg, near Edinburg, before moving to Les Pesquiès, who is south of Villefranche -de -rouergue.
A spokesman for the British Office for Foreign Affairs said: “We support the British couple’s family who died in France and connects with local authorities.”
