Retirement rumors
Promotor Eddie Hearn reportedly thinks Crawford may be withdrawn now that he has failed to fight with Canel. Says the fight with Canelo-Paul could have had “stunned ” Crawford match permanently.
This would be a strange move for Crawford if he retreats because there are many interesting fights that can make in 154. They would not bring a huge money that would fight Canel, but they would still pay well.

If Crawford, 37, wants to sit and wait for the outcome of Canel’s megel fight against Jake, hoping that negotiations will go with a Mexican star, he can do so. That would look so desperately weak on his part, and his popularity would still fall if he would not remain busy.
The fight against one of these guys would pay well, and if Crawford won, it would create more interest in the fight between him and Canela. The fight would no longer be viewed as a cash hornbeam, which would be now if they had fought.
“Jake Paul’s struggle has a perfect sense of Canela Alvarez, but also changes the Crawford fighting,” Eddie Hearn said in The Ring Magazine YouTube Channel, discussing today’s news about Canela who decided to fight Jake Paul in May.
“Canelo-Crawford is one of the great boxing fights that can be fought in a modern day. When you fight Jake Paul, it’s kind of. Maybe someone reacted to that news or [Canelo vs. Crawford] He just passed.
“It sounds to me that the move in the fight against Jake Paul may have destroyed the second fight. I do not blame Canela Alvarez, because, financially, the bigger fight is Canelo-Jake Paul because you have two big stars in that fight.
Fighting Jake Paul is a better move for Canel’s career because the money and publicity that will be received for that match will be massive. Moreover, Canelo will receive more fans because of Jake’s followers on social media. There are over 20 million Instagram followers and 20+ million YouTube subscribers, many of whom will become Canela fans after this fight.
Crawford’s inactivity
Crawford has to defend his WBA junior medium weight title won by Irail Madrid last August. He still has not made the defense of that belt and holds it hostage. All candidates in the Top 15 WBA have a career paused by the Crawford who is not defending themselves.
As a champion, Crawford was rotting with his schedule once a year. He is the worst type of champion because he defends himself only annually. If Crawford wants a salary from Canel, it must move to 168 or 175 and beat some top fighters, such as David Benavidez, David Morrela or Diego Pachec.
