Elon Musk congratulates the AFD leader in the German election
The hard right alternative to Germany may not have done well in the Sunday elections, as his leaders hoped, but her revolutionary performance was enough to congratulate Elona Musk’s phone call.
Alice WeidelChancellor candidate for the party, known for German initials, AFD, told reporters on Monday morning that she slept the call of Mr. Musk, the richest man in the world and top adviser to President Trump. When she looked at her phone in the morning after her party won 20.8 percent of the vote, she said, she had a missed call from the United States, which turned out to be Mr. Musk, who, she said, “Congratulations to me personally.”
A few hours later, Mr. Musk repeated it publicly, when he ordered a congratulations to the Hungarian authoritarian leader Victor Orban with the added note that read: “Indeed, congratulate @alice_weidel! According to this growth rate of @Afd will be most party to the following elections. “
AFD came to second place in the German national elections with more than 20 percent of the vote, almost doubled its share in 2021 and a record for any far right party since the end of World War II. But Friedrich Merz, the leader of the Christian Democrats of the first place and the assumed future chancellor, excluded the formation of the coalition with the AFD, so Mrs. Weidel and her party will continue to be on the side.
Parts of AFD, which campaign on the suppression of irregular immigration, increase deportations and improvement of economics, German domestic intelligence is classified as extremist. But JD Vance Vice-President met with Mrs. Weidel earlier this month in Munich after shocked by European leaders, telling them that the main parties should not exclude the ultimate right-hand fractures like the AFD.
Mr. Musk made a spray in December when Publicly supported by AFDFirst on X, his social media platform, and later in a 75-minute video conversation with Mrs. Weidel, who hosted in January in January in January, he tried to promote fun once again, inviting himself to a lush meeting of a party in Halle, where he encouraged the crowd to try to convince their neighbors, friends and family to vote for AFD.
It was a very unusual public intervention of a foreign advisor for a national and white house in the German election, she made even more striking when Mr. Musk told supporters of AFD that he was “too focused on past guilt” in Germany.
But Mr. Musk’s push seems to have had a significant impact on the already high -ranking parties. Tino Chrupalla, who is a teammate with Mrs. Weidel, admitted before the election that Mr. Musk may not be a move for potential AFD voters, but said that his approval led to the interests and donations of other business leaders.
