The franchise of the Bangladeska Premier League (BPL) Durbar Rajshahi is facing major financial and administrative troubles, leaving their foreign players stranded in Daki. Five foreign players did not receive full payment, and the owner of the team and the administration did not respond to their concern.
Durbar Rajshahi has been struggling with financial issues from the beginning of the BPL 2024-25, including non-payment to local players and total poor management. The franchise problems worsened with his foreign players stranded in Daki. Rajshahi’s campaign ended on Saturday, February 1st.
Rajshahi’s foreign players stranded at the Daka Hotel for paying problems
Foreign players Rajshahi, including Mohammad Haris, Aftab Alam, Mark Deyal, Ryan Burl and Miguel Cummins, were stranded at the Daka Hotel because the franchise did not provide return tickets or cleared their fee.
Some players have only received 25% of payments, while others are not paid at all. Have not received their daily allowance for the last 11 days. The owner of the franchise and the administration did not respond to their concerns, leaving the players in a helpless situation.

Anamul Haque revealed that local players had not received any payment before the tournament, despite being usually given 25% in advance. This led to a boycott of training in Chattogram by local players and a battle of the match by foreign players.
Ryan Burl and Mohammad Haris returned to the game to help Durbar Rajshahi stay in the playoffs, but they lacked net running. Recently, Rajshahi has released new checks to settle the fee, but they all bounced, leaving players without paying.

Owner Rajshahija Shafique Rahman faced problems with the Team Hotel in Chattogram after failing to make timely payment. The photos became viral security guards outside his room and his car was seized. When the team returned to Dhaku, they were forced to take away from another hotel for paying problems.
On Saturday, Bangladeski sports advisor, Asif Mahmud, revealed that he had talked to Rahman and warned him of legal consequences if the payments were not cleared. Mahmud said that the Committee to determine the facts would investigate how the team situation reached this point.
“I spoke with the owner Rajshahi, who assured us that he would clean the payments,” Mahmud said. “I clearly told him that if it fails, we will take legal steps. No more discussions. Our Committee to determine the facts will study how this team came about.”
