In the second half, Josh Tymon was enough to get Swansea a championship win of 1-0 over Bristol City in a full-blooded Anglo-Welsh Battle of Ashton Gate.
The winner followed after 55 minutes when Robins goalkeeper Max O’Leary dived to save the shot of Goncal Franco, but he could only sparkle the ball in Tymon’s path, who fired a reassignment into a neat network.
The hosts rejected two top-notch savings from Lawrence Vigouiroux, as their attempt to enter the play-offs also prevented some poor finish and committed Swansea’s defense.
With Joe Williams and Rossa McCrory, the head of the city of Bristol Liam Manning made three changes in 1-1 in Oxford. Max Bird and Haydon Roberts entered, as well as Anis Mehmeti for George Earthy.
Swansea debuted on Deadline Day by signing Lewis O’Brien in the middle of the terrain, as one of the four changes, in which Kyle Nauighton, Eom Ji-Sung and Zan Vipotnik also brought.
The city of Bristol had a better open first half, forcing two moments of shine from Vigoroux. In eight minutes, a high goalkeeper dived from the right to Palma via the solid header Jason Knight from the bird angle.
22. Mm. Vigouiroux stopped equally well, this time dived from the left side to the end of the finger of Luke McNally around the post.
Ten minutes later, Swansea created his first opening, but Ronald could only accurately shoot at O’Leary from Naulighton through the ball.
Rob Dickie launched a header with Knight Cross while the hosts continued to threaten. But another precise passing by Naulighton seemed to see Vipotnik just before the break to mistakenly try to lift the ball over O’Leary, putting a weak effort straight into the goalkeeper’s arms.
Liam Cullen sent a 20 -meter free kick over the bar, while Swansea broke through the last chance for a energetic 45 minutes in which both sides lacked a top advantage.
Timon’s goal awarded Swanse’s best magic of the game at the beginning of the second half. Manning replied by sending a Sinclair Armstrong and Earthy midfielder for Nahki Wells and Mehmeti.
A strong Armstrong made the current influence and forced the corner from which Dickie started.
But Swansea was supposed to go two up after 68 minutes when the impressive O’Brien fed unmarked with Eom inside the box and shot straight at O’Leary from 12 meters.
Robins went straight for the attack only because of Armstrong to clean the crossbar. Then Manning’s decision to send an additional striker was almost paid off with the remaining 14 minutes when the low plant itself returned from the post.
Swansea had to defend himself for his life in the final stages, O’Brien made a brilliant bloc of a bird’s shot, while another bird effort declined for the corner as the visitors were holding.
Managers
Liam Manning City Bristol:
“There were so many positive results.
“Their goalkeeper made two extraordinary savings and we were constantly asking the SWANSEA questions right to the final whistle.
“In the end, we just lacked this meaning and quality before the aim. But the progress we achieved this season was again there to see. The level of consistency is the performance is so better and I believe that if you maintain that there will be a reward.
“We paid for a short time at the beginning of the second half when we plunged into certain areas. But besides, I have no appeal on the efforts of players.
“There is a quick opportunity to bounce on home at home on Wednesday and have proven to be able to overcome failure this season.”
Luke Williams Swansea:
“It was a strenuous victory. Now we are in something transitional period, we learn to agree without Matt Grimes, who was so important to us, and when this is the case, the main thing is to play with complete commitment.
“The players were strong enough and resistant enough to carry with high pressure very good side, but also brave enough to create some really good chance.
“I see Bristol City as a true candidate for play-off. Liam Manning is a great coach and they should support him in the long run. It could be a very important result for us.”
