Chelsea’s star Sam Kerr cleared of racially worse accusation of harassment
Chelsea and Australia’s striker Sam Kerr was found guilty of racially aggravated harassment of a police officer after a one -week trial in Kingston Crown court.
The jury rendered its verdict on Tuesday afternoon, shortly after 2 pm, after withdrawing on Monday. Kerr, 31, denied the accusation, claiming that PC Stephen Lovell called “stupid and white” during the incident in the southwest of London on January 30, 2023.
Kerr and her partner, Napa Kristie Mewis footballer, drank before the taxi driver drove him to the Twickenham police station after allegedly refused to pay for cleaning costs when one of them was ill in the vehicle and the back window was broken.
Kerr was claimed to have become violent at the station, calling PC Lovell “F ****** Stupid and White.” During the trial, Kerr admitted to using words, but denied that they were racially motivated.
She also claimed that she and Mewis were afraid of their lives, believing that the taxi driver was abducting them. The driver remained anonymous and was not called to testify at the trial.
Numerous Kerr’s present and former teammates provided glowing characters of characters on the fifth day of trials, including the formerChelsea Chief Emma Hayes and current club captain Millie Bright. Kerr has now been found guilty of a criminal offense and can draw full attention to questions in the field.
The attacker was placed aside for more than a year after suffered an ACL injury to a warm weather time in January 2024. Current Chelsea presenter Sonia Bompastor indicated that Kerr could be ready to return in February or March this year, but she will not rush her recovery.
