Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers and Rangers chief coach Barry Ferguson are delighted with fans who will return to Old Farma’s game next month, Live on Sky Sports.
Since 2023, there have been no guest fans at the Old company, and the clubs could not agree on arrangements with tickets.
Celtic host Rangers in Scottish Premiership on March 16th with sides that will meet again in Ibrox after dividing the top six, with the clubs have agreed to stand out “four percent of the salary capacity” at each stadium guest fans.
12 months ago, the deal made the Scottish Professional Football League, but the locking of the guest fans continued for the first knots this season after Celtic felt that Rangers did not meet the safety requirements in the agreed time.
“Everyone welcomes this because the game is a wonderful spectacle, but everything is with fans there, so both backs are great news for fixing, for players and in the end for supporters because this is for whom we play,” Rodgers said.
“Football, as we know, is about rivalry and there is no greater rivalry than the Celtics VS Rangers in world football.
“Of course there are many great derbys but this one is exceptional. I think it’s good to have both sets of supporters
Asked if he wanted to return to the much greater allocation he had experienced when he was a Rangers player, Ferguson replied, “At the moment, I’m just happy that the fans have come back. Over time, we’ll wait and see, but at least it’s the beginning.
“It will be good that the fans will be at the Celtic Park. I always said that this was something that the devices had missed. In an ideal situation, it would be great if there were more.
“But as it is, the way it happened, the number of tickets we get, I am glad that the fans are allowed to return.”
Earlier, Rangers announced in the statement: “Rangers fans will be able to attend our Celtics match on March 16, and two clubs agreed for a reciprocal percentage of tickets to be awarded to fans.
“About four percent of the payment capacity at both stadiums will be awarded to the guest club.
“The arrangement will then be repeated for a derby at the Old company in Ibrox after a cleft.”
Celtics said: “We can confirm that after the previous decision of the SPFL from last year, the necessary requirements that have been resolved, the fans of the fans will be present at the next two derby matches in Glasgow this season at the Celtic Park and Ibrox.”
In 2018, Rangers torn a long -standing convention in which about 7,500 fans traveled around the city to Derby Days and reduced that figure to about 10 percent of this total. The Celtic inevitably followed the suit.
It worked in a situation where no club accepted tickets for safety reasons for safety reasons.
Celtic then refused Rangers’ game ticket request 30. December 2023, with SPFL at that stage unable to carry out unclear regulations out of allocation.
