British composer Leo Geyer on documenting the lost music of Auschwitz
It’s called the lost music of Auschwitz. The British composer spoke with France 24 about his chance of discovering pages of compositions by prisoners in the death camp in Auschwitz in Nazi Poland. The works were often assembled by people who did not survive the horrors of the camp. Leo Geyer spent the last decade exploring and documenting the compositions, in the midst of his effort to ensure that music lived. He spoke to us in perspective.
