Commander Bill Maher admired the move by scouting America, formerly scouts of America (BSA), to change his name in an effort to be more inclusive. HBO host called him “such things that Trump choose.”
“The boys of the reconnaissance of America can no longer be called scouts because it is excluded,” Maher said a stunned tone in her “Real Time” show on Friday. “Like there are no scouts? It’s like this is a kind of crime against nature. People are different.”
“It’s such a bow title,” Maher said, referring to the satire website. “The whole country f — is such an arch title,” he repeated.
The organization accepted the new name on the 115th anniversary, scouting America, “marking the key moment on the organization’s journey,” the statement said in early February.

“It’s a kind of thing that Trump chooses,” Maher said. “I said that a million times here. Democrats, you lost a crazy competition from a crazy person.”
Former Democratic Congressman Tim Ryan asked what America “gives young boys” and “what a structure, what kind of discipline, what kind of education” uses boys.
“Many of these projects are really difficult,” Ryan said. “They have to be achieved. They have to make an effort. They have to overcome failure. It is part of the maturation and becoming a lot of functioning adults.”
“And take it crazy,” he continued, with Maher agreed. “To say that this is aimed at young boys because young boys are different from young girls, so the approach must be different.”

Change comes after a change in politics in 2018 that allows girls to join the program. The organization began to allow gay youth in 2013, and in 2015 it ended with a ban on blankets for gay adult leaders.
