Jim Lampley was impressed with David Benavidez’s victory over David Morrell last Saturday night. He believes that the ‘Mexican monster’ would have a more chance of defeating indisputable champions in the difficult heavyweight category Arthur Beterbiev of Dmitry Bivol next.
Lampley believes that buffalo “multiple skills” would make a difficult match for Benavidez (30-0, 24 ko) compared to the knockout artist Beterbiev (21-0, 20 ko).
Beterbiev Matchup
Although he did not explain why Arthur would be a lighter option, he might believe that Benavides’s striking of the volume and speed of hands would be too much for a slower, heavy champion with four belts. It is a struggle that Benavidez can win if he can handle the strength of Arthur Beterbiev on the inside and his counter-crying.
Many boxing fans on Social believe Benavides’s appearance against Morrell, injured several times and demolished, made him vulnerable to heavy recording from Beterbiev. He would be in Benavidez’s face the whole fight and would not deal with breaks as Morrell did.

“I think Bivol, because of his multiple skills and boxer crafts, is a slightly different equation. I think they are a little bigger than David, but I wouldn’t rule out that David beat neither.”
Bivol (23-1, 12 ko) can be the one with one benavide, not Beterbiev. The buffalo has a great chance of defeating Beterbiev, 40, in his rematch on February 2nd. Turks al-Sheikh has already said that he would want the winner of Benavidez-Morrell to cause a buffalo or Arthur next.
