The legendary captain of Australia Ricky Ponting called a surprising invitation that Mitchell Owen included in the Trophy Champions 2025 team. Ponting thinks Owen is in good form and can replace the injured Mitchell Marsha in the Australian Detachment.
Marsh was a key player for Australia, especially in white ball formats. He is involved in the preliminary team of the champion trophy team even though he fell from the test team.

Cameron Green was undergoing surgery last year, which made him miss many important series for Australia. However, he started training again, but he would not be available for the upcoming champion trophy.
