A bus collision in southern Mexico kills 41, the authorities say


At least 41 people were killed in an accident involving a bus in South Mexico, the Government in Tabasco said.

The pictures show that the bus was completely burned after swallowing it after a collision that happened in the early hours of Saturday morning, near the small town of Escáceg.

Acosta Acosta’s Acosta said that 48 passengers were on the vehicle – which traveled from Cancun to Tabasac – when he collided with a “trailer”.

Tour’s Acosta added that he was “deeply sorry about what happened” and said he was working with the authorities to find out the cause, adding that the bus was traveling within speed.

“The public ministry informed us that the investigation would take effect in the Prosecutor’s Office of the Municipality of Candelaria, Campeche, for that reason, the relatives of our passengers and friends will have to go to this department to do relevant procedures,” Tour’s Acosta said on Facebook.

The Tabasco government state said that recovery works continue – including efforts to identify the killed.

Authorities will give an update with details about the number of victims and their identities later on Saturday, said Government Secretary, Ramiro Lopez.

The Palacio Local Council of Municipal De Comalcalco has announced that it will support the transfer of the victims’ body transfer in a passenger bus accident.
