While Trump teasing Canadian legislators, he said he asked Gretzky to become “Canadian Governor”.
“I was with Wayne Gretzky. I said, ‘Wayne, do you want to be a Governor of Canada? “I can’t imagine anyone doing better than Wayne,” Trump said at a press conference MAR-a-Lije earlier this month.
“Wayne wasn’t too interested. But he would probably like statehood,” Trump added. “He’s a friend of mine. He’s a great guy. It’s great. We call him great, right? He is a great hockey player.”
