LOS ANGELES, January 23, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles (LA Y), with support Southern California Gas Co. (SoCalGas), is expanding its commitment to providing ongoing critical resources to communities recovering from the recent wildfires in Southern California.
SoCalGas provides a 400 thousand dollars donation LA Y according to its Eaton (NYSE:) wildfire response to support immediate and long-term community needs as residents begin to move through the next phases of this crisis. SoCalGas’ donation helps expand access to critical LA Ya resources such as extended hours; free community access to all LA Ya amenities (showers, Wi-Fi, food, water and essentials); free childcare for children of first responders, essential workers and children of families who have been displaced, evacuated or otherwise bereaved; and access to youth centers. In addition to the financial contribution, 100 SoCalGas employees are volunteering in Pasadena-Sierra Madre Y organize thousands of pounds of community donations. Anyone affected by the fire can contact us 611 E. Sierra Madre Blvd. to get food, water, clothes, personal hygiene items and other things that can help in their recovery.

LA Y, with the support of SoCalGas, will continue to provide essential resources and support services to help individuals and families through the recovery process to ensure people have the help they need to rebuild and thrive.
