Manchester City have reached an agreement in principle worth £29.4m to sign defender Vitor Reis from Palmeiras.
There are no bonuses to be included in the deal and the final details will be worked out this morning.
Reis is now the second centre-back to move to the club after this window Abdukodir Husanovwho is set to complete a £33.5m transfer in the UK Lens.
Sky Sports News reported that a number of clubs – including Brighton in the Premier League – have gathered information about the 19-year-old, who now looks set to join Pep Guardiola’s side in the January transfer window.
Palmeiras president Leila Pereira confirmed that City made an official offer for the player on Monday and that an agreement in principle had now been reached.
Palmeiras has always been relaxed about the situation after selling a number of talents to Europe for big fees over the past 18 months, including Endrick to Real Madrid and Willian Estevao to Chelsea.
