Virat Kohli and family visit Premanand Maharaj after BGT disaster, seek peace

Indiacricket star Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma visited spiritual guru Premanand Ji Maharaj at Vrindavan Dham to seek his divine blessings. Kohli and Anushka’s two children Vamika and Akaay also joined them during the trip.

In a video that went viral on social media, Virat and Anushka paid homage to the spiritual guru and sought his blessings. In the video, Anushka Sharma is seen talking to Premanand Maharaj and asking him to give them prem-bhakti.

“The last time we came, I had some questions in my head. I was going to ask something, but everyone sitting there asked you something similar. It was as if I was talking to you in our own heads,” said Anushka.

“The next day, I would open Ekantik Vartalap (Premanand’s online sermons) and someone would ask the same question. I would like to ask you to give us prem-bhakti,” she added.

Premanand Maharaj’s reply to Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli

Premanand Maharaj gave a sincere reply on the occasion and praised the celebrity couple for their achievements. He said it was difficult for people with such fame to return to commitment, but he applauded the power couple for their lifestyle.

“You are both very brave. To achieve all this in the world, to turn towards bhakti (devotion) is very difficult. I think you will surely get an answer for your loyalty,” he replied.

During this period, Virat Kohli was seen with his daughter Vamika, while Anushka Sharma was with Akaay. This is the second time that Kohli and Anushka visited Premanand Maharaj. They visited it earlier in January 2023.

Poor performance by Virat Kohli against Australia

Virat Kohli also visited Vrindavan after the Border-Gavaskar Trophy where he endured a tough time with the bat. He scored only 190 runs in five Tests in the series on average 23.75.

Prior to this series, Kohli had a torrid domestic Test season where he amassed 190 runs in five Tests against Bangladesh and New Zealand at an average of 21.33. His focus now shifts to the ODI format as he begins his preparations for the upcoming Champions Trophy where he will have a big role to play for India.

His weakness outside the off stump was clearly exposed during the Test series against Australia where he was replaced several times in a similar manner. Kohli was caught behind his outside edge on all eight occasions, resulting in his worst ever tour of Australia with the bat.

While Kohli had a disappointing series, India lost the series 1-3 as Australia reclaimed the Border-Gavaskar trophy. Australia finally broke the ten-year deadlock in winning the Border-Gavaskar trophy.
