Trump will end birthright citizenship for children of illegal immigrants, stop the flow of refugees
President-elect Trump will sign an executive order ending birthright citizenship for the children of illegal immigrants, new White House officials said Monday — one of a series of border-related orders they will sign to overhaul U.S. immigration policy and border security, which also includes a pause in refugee resettlement for at least four months.
Officials told reporters in a press conference that Trump would sign the order clarifying the language of the 14th Amendment and stating that the federal government “will not recognize automatic birthright citizenship for children of illegal aliens born in the United States.”
The 14th Amendment states, “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”

Some legal experts they said such a move was a constitutional change and could not be made by executive order. The move will almost certainly face a court challenge from civil rights groups and immigration activists.
Trump advisers and some conservative legal scholars have previously argued that the idea of giving birthright citizenship to the children of illegal immigrants is based on a misinterpretation of the amendment.
It is one of a series of executive orders that Trump will sign in this regard border security and illegal immigration on his first day in office.
Fox News previously reported that Trump will order the deployment of US troops to the southern border, end the Biden-era parole policy and designate international cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.
Trump will direct the federal government to continue construction of the border wall and will also rescind Biden’s parole policies – including the use of the CBP One application for the parole of migrants to the US and the parole processes for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans (CHNVs).
The second order will send U.S. troops to deploy to the southern and northern borders under the U.S. Northern Command and “direct the military to prioritize our borders and territorial integrity in the strategic planning of its operations.”

The third order will designate international cartels and organizations, including MS-13 and the bloodthirsty Tren de Aragua, as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs) and Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGTs). The FTO designation enables targeted actions against members, including financial penalties.
On Monday, the new officials also said Trump would sign orders suspending refugee resettlement for four months and ending migrants’ ability to seek asylum by creating an immediate removal process without the possibility of asylum.
“We will abolish asylum and close the border for illegals,” the official said.

Trump will also order the attorney general to seek the death penalty for the murder law enforcement and serious crimes committed by illegal immigrants, officials said.
Trump is expected to sign 10 executive orders related to border security and immigration on Monday alone.
