Trump says Microsoft is in conversations to buy Tiktoca | Social media news

The US president says there is a “great interest” to buy a video sharing platform that faces a ban on national security reasons.

The President of the United States Donald Trump said Microsoft is among the companies thinking about buying a Tiktor so that the platform could avoid a ban on the basis of national security.

He asked late Monday if Microsoft talked about the purchase of a popular video sharing app, Trump said, “I would say yes.”

Trump said that “great interest in Tictok,” but refused to provide a complete list of US companies interested in sale.

“I like to bid wars because you reach your best offers,” Trump told reporters as they traveled from Miami to Washington, DC, at Air Force One.

Microsoft refused to comment. Tictok did not immediately respond to inquiries.

On January 18, Tiktok briefly darkened in the United States to comply with the law stipulate that the Chinese parent company Bytetlance was flowing from the platform or sees it was banned.

Trump suspended the implementation of the law 75 days shortly after he assumed his duty to give his administration time to find an alternative decision of the prohibition.

Trump tried to ban Tiktok during his first term of office for alleged care of national security, but reversed his attitude during the 2024 presidential campaign, promising to “save” the platform.

Former US President Joe Biden has signed a law that has facilitated the ban in the midst of two -sided concern that the platform could be used to theft of the personal data of Americans and manipulate public discourse.

Earlier this month, the US Supreme Court unanimously voted a ban after rejecting arguments that it had violated the protection of the free speech of the American Constitution.
