Trump says Microsoft in conversations to acquire a tictok
President Donald Trump said on Monday that Microsoft talked about buying a Tictok, shortly after the social media application had died last week. He further suggested that he wanted to see the competition of war around the popular platform.
Trump said earlier that in a discussion with several parties about the potential acquisition of Tiktoc, which has about 170 million US users, and expects to decide on the future of the application in the next 30 days, Reuters reported.
The application was briefly taken out of the net just before the law, which required him to pass or face the ban, entered into force on January 19th. However, after taking his duty on January 20, Trump signed an executive order by delaying the implementation of the law of up to 75 days.
The law was established because of concern that the application had abused its users’ data.
