President Trump signed the order Friday, reinstating a policy that requires foreign nongovernmental agencies to certify that they do not provide or promote abortion if they receive U.S. federal funds for family planning assistance.
The position, sometimes called Politics of Mexico and opponents dubbed it the “global GAG rule”, it was first introduced more than 40 years ago. Every Republican president has put it into effect, and Every Democrat there is abolished it.
Eight years ago, the first Trump administration not only reinstated the ban, but expanded it include organizations that comply with the rules but give money to others that do not.
Advocates say the policy, along with a law that bars us from paying for abortions around the world, has a major impact on abortion availability around the world — and also blocks aid money from flowing to health organizations for other purposes. They say it hurts reproductive and maternal health care in developing countries by cutting funding to groups that offer critical non-abortion-related services, including birth control, infant nutrition support and HIV/AIDS treatment.
On Friday, Trump also signed an executive order requiring enforcement Amendmentwhich limits government funding for most abortions.

The message of the March for Life
The executive actions occurred on the same day as the annual March for Life in Washington. In a video address to the crowd, Mr. Trump vowed “We will be proud again for families and for life” in his second term and once again boasted about appointing three Supreme Court Justices who helped Strikes Roe v. Wade.
