“So, grateful to have returned my life, to return my future, to have this second opportunity,” Ulbricht says in the video. He also said that pardon is “an important moment for everyone, everywhere who love freedom and who care about other chances.”

Trump announced on his platform on social networks that he called Ulbricht’s mother that she was notified of his son’s pardon. The president said it was done “in honor of her and the libertarian movement, which supported me so strongly.”
