Former Indian player Ravicharndran Ashwin supported the menu’s decision to name Shubman Gill for a Gill for the upcoming champion trophy. On January 18, India announced its composition for the tournament and the previous ones in England.

Gill boasts phenomenal game numbers with an average of over 58 and a rate of hits of 101.74 in 47 exits. However, he was struggling in the latest Indian Zada series in Sri Lanka, with an average of only 19 in three changes.

Ravicharndran Ashwin noted that Shubman Gill was among the few players who have a secured place in Indian ODO by playing XI, which is why his appointment is an obvious choice. The recently retired spiner also thought Gill would benefit from the presence Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrahwould he become a captain in the future.
“If Shubman becomes a captain in the future, then he can rely on the virate of Kohlija and Jasprit Bumrah to lead him. Axar Patel is appointed a fee for the upcoming T20I series against England. There is a strong competition between Axar and Jadeja who will play in XI” , Ashwin said in the same video.

Gill after a bad series on the recently completed Border-Gavascar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 in Australia, with an average of under 19 in five changes.
In the meantime, the English Odor series will begin on February 6, after five t20i. The eight -team champion trophy will start on February 19, and India will play their first game against Bangladesha on February 20th.
