Ravicharndran Ashwin claims that Varun Chakaravarthy was “robbed” by the CT 2025 “Tournament Player” awards
Former India Spinner Ravicharndran Ashwin has selected a tournament player for the 2025 ICC champion trophy. Ravichardran Ashwin said Varun Chakaravarthy earned the player of the champion trophy, adding that he was “X-Factor” for men in blue.
Varun Chakaravarthy played a key role in the victory of India during the champion trophy. He didn’t play all the games, but he made a huge impact in three games. “Whatever was said and done, in my opinion the player of the tournament was Varun Chakaravarthy. He did not play the whole tournament. It was such a big difference. If Varun Chakaravarthy was not there, I think this game would have been very different.

Ravicharndran Ashwin was in fear of Varun’s tactical glow. Ashwin stated that the series player should go to the player who made the biggest difference.

The 38-year-old said he was happy about Rohit Sharma and Gautama Gambhira after winning the Trophy champion. He praised Gambhira for making a bold decision that contributed to the success of the team.
“I’m so happy about Rohit and Gautama Gambhira. Just spare the thought for Gg. What does it have to go through? Losing the test series against New Zealand, you lost a few. But you made an extraordinary decision. There was no Jasprit Bumrah. This statement, this Indian team won the champion trophy without continuing.”
The Indian Spin Quartet Varun Chakaravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Ravidra Jadeja received 144 driving and took five Wickskex in 38 additions. India restricted New Zealand to 251/7 in 50 additions.
