Former Judge Premier League David Coote has discovered that he has struggled with his sexuality and the “ruthlessness” of the modern football calendar to use drugs.

“I have received deeply embarrassing abuse during my career as a ref and adding my sexuality to this would be really difficult. Much can be done throughout the football and wider in society with respect to discrimination.
