Investigators say the now-deceased gunman who opened fire on Nashville, Tennesseehigh school on Wednesday, killing a female student and wounding another student before turning the gun on himself, was “significantly influenced” by web material found on sites that “most would find harmful and objectionable.”
On Wednesday, Metropolitan Nashville Police identified 17-year-old Solomon Henderson as the shooter at Antioch High School who killed Josselin Corea Escalante, 16, and wounded a 17-year-old student who suffered a wound after being grazed by a bullet. In the meantime, the latter was treated and released from the hospital.
In a press release Thursday, police said a murder-suicide investigation at the school cafeteria determined that Henderson fired 10 shots from a 9 mm handgun within 16 seconds of entering the room.
The gun, police said, was loaded with nine rounds when investigators found it. A frame full of seven bullets was also found on the floor of the cafeteria.

Just before entering the canteen, the investigation found, Henderson went to a nearby restroom where he posted photos on social media.
The police previously believed Henderson took the bus to school on Wednesday, but they have since confirmed that his mother drove him to school.

When investigators searched Henderson’s residence, they were unable to find any other firearms or gun parts.
Although no firearms were found, detectives have since found two documents they believe were created by Henderson on non-traditional websites – one 51 pages, the other 288 pages.

Documents and other evidence found at the residence, police said, are being closely reviewed by homicide detectives, as well as detectives from the Special Investigations Division and the FBI.
“It is clear that Henderson has been significantly influenced by web material, particularly that found on non-traditional sites that most would find harmful and objectionable,” police said.

In addition, it was learned that the gun was purchased by an individual in Arizona in 2022 and was not reported stolen.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is helping police determine how Henderson obtained the gun.
